Welcome to the third part ofthis deep dive into the illustrious history of the Imperial Fists. In this segment, we shift our focus to the latter stages of the Horus Heresy and the events that followed, stretching all the way to the present day. As the galaxy tore itself apart in civil war, the Imperial Fists stood resolute in their defense of Terra and the Emperor. Rogal Dorn, ever the stalwart defender, played a crucial role during the Siege of Terra, fortifying the Imperial Palace as the traitors sought to break through. But the aftermath of the Heresy brought new challenges. In the years following Horus’ defeat, the Loyalists would be faced with not only rebuilding the Imperium but also restructuring their very Legions. Rogal Dorn, initially resistant to Guilliman’s Codex Astartes, would ultimately accept the necessity of dividing his once-great Legion into smaller, more agile Chapters. The Imperial Fists, scarred but unbroken by their trial in the Iron Cage against the Iron Warriors, would use this time to reform, embracing the new doctrine without losing their identity as the Emperor’s Sentinels. In the millennia that followed, from the harrowing Black Crusades of Abaddon to the Indomitus Crusade launched in the Era Indomitus, the Imperial Fists have been a symbol of unyielding defense and sacrifice. Whether repelling daemonic invasions on Terra itself or launching aggressive counterattacks against the Imperium’s foes, they remain at the forefront of humanity’s desperate fight for survival. Their legendary vessel, the Phalanx, continues to safeguard the Segmentum Solar, a fortress in the void, ever-watchful over the Emperor’s throne.
