Police footage shows moment officers stabbed at crash scene
Bodyworn video has revealed the moment three GMP officers were attacked as they responded to a road traffic collision in south Manchester.
Now they have won an award at this year’s Police Federation National Bravery Awards.
PS Foster, PS Ansell, and PC Wolstencroft, all based on the Trafford district response team at the time of the attack, were awarded for courage they demonstrated as Jacob Brown, a 27-year-old local man, came at them from behind with a knife.
PS Foster and Ansell were attacked with a knife before PC Wolstencroft Tasered Brown.
Brown, 27, of Wood Road, Whally Range was sentenced to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024.
