Best of the World Gravy Wrestling Championships 2024 at the Rose ’N’ Bowl, Stacksteads, Lancashire
Hundreds of wrestling fans turned out to watch people in fancy dress writhe around in warm gravy for this year's World Gravy Wrestling Championships. In the 16th edition of the popular Bank Holiday event, punters filled into the Rose ’N’ Bowl in Bacup, for the hotly anticipated show.
As ever, the competitors were just as peculiar as the occasion with the likes of the Undertaker, a 'Gravy Baby', a Barbie, leprechaun, Borat and an Austrian Butcher all taking part in the bouts.
Now in its 16th year, the World Gravy Wrestling Championships aims to raise money for charity. Entry to the event is £3.00 per adult and £2.00 per child with all proceeds going to East Lancashire Hospice.
In addition, participants can raise funds for their own chosen charities.
