Is having a foreign accent in English bad?
You’ve probably asked yourself at some point: Why do I have an accent when I speak in English? Well, it’s not because you’re lazy and it’s definitely not because you’re stupid! It’s because you grew up with a particular language (which we call Native language), and that language of yours has particular Sounds, Rhythm and Stress.
I must admit that a few times, some people have commented my videos saying things like:
“she is a very good teacher, but she has an accent”. In any case, my question now is: Is having a foreign accent a bad thing?.
