Once you prepare the AutoCAD Drawing, to setout the points in field you need to export AutoCAD coordinates back to the total station. Using a set of AutoLisp Commands Tailor Made to Land Surveyors, you can run AutoCAD Commands to export the co-ordinates to a total station in land surveying.

Setting Out
Welcome to Lesson on ESurvey Lisps related to Setting out.
In this chapter, you will understand lisp programs related to marking the points in the drawing and exporting the point data for setting out points in the field.
Put Leader with Easting and Northing
Important points in Survey drawings are represented with their easting and northing. ‘PLL’ command of E Survey Lisps serves this purpose by putting easting and Northing with the leader line.
Mark Leaders at Insertion of Text, Block and Point
LIP command is similar to PLL command, but LIP command works with multiple texts, blocks, and points at once. Using ‘LIP’ command when you select points, text or blocks lisp will mark a leader line with its easting and northing.
Mark Leaders at each Vertex and Angle between Segments
Using ‘MSA’ command you can mark internal angles of the polyline and easting and northing of each vertex of the polyline. This lisp finds its use mainly for setting out alignments.
Put Easting, Northing with attribute
You saw that using ‘PLL’, ‘LIP’ and ‘MSA’ commands you can mark leaders. But exporting them from CAD to Excel is not easy. If the requirement is to export the point data from CAD, then you can mark attributes at such points and export the data. To insert ‘EN’ block at a given point, use ‘EN’ command. Please note that while inserting the ‘EN’ block, the program also marks easting and northing values.
Mark EN blocks at Insertion of Text, Block and Point
Using IEN command you can put the EN block for multiple texts, Block and points in a single command. Later all these ‘EN’ block information can be exported at once.
Mark EN Block along 3D Polyline
Normally in Survey Drawings chainages are measured in 2D. But in a few cases, it may be required that measurements of chainages need to be done along the 3D Lines only. Using MPL, you can get elevations along a 3D polyline with specified chainage interval including easting and northing.
Export EN Block Information to File
You have seen that using ‘EN’, ‘IEN’, ‘MPL’ commands you can insert EN Blocks at the required points. Information from all these blocks can be exported to a file at once using the EEN command. A CSV file by name ES.CSV gets created in a temporary directory.
Vertex Export
Using VID command you can export, easting and northing of each Vertex of any alignment represented by a polyline. The exported file gets created as PntList.CSV in the Temporary directory.
Thank you, in the next section you will learn about arranging multiple Sections in drawing and making it print-ready.
