Introduction to Contour Generation Software (Continued)
Hello, Welcome once again to Introduction Video of Contour Module of ESurvey CADD. In the previous video, you have seen how to generate a contour map within CAD Package or generating contours in ESurvey CADD interface using CSV or Excel File.
In this video, we will explore more capabilities of the contour module
a) Finding area and Volume using Contour
b) Drawing a profile along an alignment
Finding area and Volume using Contour
Once we generate the contour in ESurvey CADD Interface. Select “Area and Volume” item from Contour Menu. The software will show the “Area and Volume” window in which the area covered by each contour line is displayed. In the next column, volume values are displayed. Which indicates volumes till that elevation.
Drawing a profile along an alignment
When we have elevations representing surface in CAD drawing, If we want to generate a profile, it can be done easily with the ESurvey CADD Contour module. Let us draw an imaginary alignment on this surface, let us now select “Draw Section” Subitem of “Draw Section” Menu item under ESurvey CADD Menu and select this line. The application will ask us to provide an interval for generating a profile, let us say we want to generate profile with 3 M interval. If we mention it and select a point to place the profile in drawing, Software will generate a profile with a horizontal and Vertical scale specified in “Section Setting” and place it at a specified point.
Contour software also offers more features like generating contours depending on multiple boundaries including islands. We can use break lines to compute contours in areas where we want to differentiate contour generation depending on surface edges. We can also specifically mark contours for a given custom value say 71.29. All these features can be found at the help section of the contour at www.esurveying.net. Thank you.
