In the short documentary 'Grain City' the Sheffield Wheat Experiment re-imagines alternative grain economies through hand growing, harvesting and processing a population wheat for and of Sheffield via a dispersed farm, spread across an entire city.
Through understanding the impacts of industrialisation on our daily bread, the artwork reconnected people to the land and the seed and explored alternative systems that embody new values, making food more than just a commodity.
