The Institute of Medicine's recently completed Evaluation of PEPFAR assesses the program's performance over the past decade, as it transitioned from an emergency response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic to an emphasis on strengthening health systems in focal countries. The Evaluation of PEPFAR was a four-year, congressionally mandated review of PEPFAR; it is only the second major review of the program.
For this occasion, we have convened representatives from the U.S. administration, evaluation participants, and independent experts to discuss the review's implications for PEPFAR's policy priorities in the second Obama term.
Speakers will include:
Chris Collins
Vice President; Director, Public Policy
amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research
Jennifer Kates
Vice President; Director, Global Health and HIV Policy
Kaiser Family Foundation
Julia Martin
Deputy Global AIDS Coordinator
Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator
Kimberly Scott
Senior Program Officer
Institute of Medicine
Moderated by:
J. Stephen Morrison
Vice President; and Director, Global Health Policy Center
Center for Strategic and International Studies
