Remediation of mixed Cr(VI) and TCE contamination at active trading estate
This case study features a large-scale, technically and regulatory complex remediation project, where Mott McDonald worked with REGENESIS to devise a strategy and remediate the groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents and chromium(VI). The approach required no offsite disposal of hazardous waste and minimised the risk to both on- and offsite receptors without disrupting commercial operations. Using a novel blend of four injectable remediation technologies, REGENESIS treated the co-mingled plume entirely in-situ with a strategy agreed by the Environment Agency and two local authorities.
