Hey guys, it’s Jack here from Designmodo.

In this video today, we’re going to be covering Designmodo’s new Chrome Extension called ‘Insert HTML by Designmodo’ - which is an awesome piece of functionality that’s a HUGE time-saver.

Specifically, let’s have a look now at just how quick and easy it is now to insert an HTML email newsletter directly into Gmail.
So, let’s start!

Right now, you can see on the screen a lovely designed HTML email newsletter sitting inside Designmodo’s Postcards app.

To export this, the first thing we need to do is click on the green EXPORT button in the top right-hand corner of the screen, then click ‘Download as ZIP,’ toggle the Host Images Online switch to ‘ON,’ and click Download.

It will only take a couple of seconds, then you have your ZIP file copy of the HTML newsletter saved on your device.
Now’s the time to download the Designmodo chrome extension if you haven’t already.

All you need to do is head to the Chrome Webstore, find the extension called ‘Insert HTML by Designmodo’ and click ‘Add to Chrome.’ Confirm by clicking the ‘Add Extension’ button, and then you’ll see it pop up amongst your chrome extensions in no time at all.
Great - now head to your Gmail within Google Chrome, and click ‘Compose’ to start a new message.

Next, click on the ‘Add HTML’ button in the bottom left of the message window, which will bring up a text box ready to receive your HTML code.

Head over to your ‘Downloads’ folder - and find the ZIP file we exported earlier. Extract the file from the ZIP folder, and open up the text-based version of the HTML. Select ‘ALL’ text, copy that directly into the box that’s still open in your Gmail view, and click ‘Insert HTML.’

You might find it easier at this point to maximize the message window.

And there it is! As you can see, the lovely email newsletter has been automatically built directly into the new message on Gmail.

What’s more, you can even make any final font or color changes or any kind of final tweaks you might want to add right here in the new message window.

All that’s left to do is insert the recipient’s email addresses into the ‘TO’ box at the top of the window, add your subject into the subject line and click send.
As you can see here, I’ve opened the test email in my Outlook, and this is how my email newsletter looks in my outlook app. Yes, it has exactly the same design I created in the Postcards app. Great!

And with that, we’ve come to the end of this video.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the walkthrough of the new Designmodo Chrome extension. If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to contact the comments section.

As always, thanks for watching! I’ve been Jack from Designmodo - over and out!
