Indicator Organisms and Food Grade Air
Microbial contamination of food grade air is a great concern to many food and beverage manufacturers. Because microorganisms are ubiquitous, it can be helpful to identify the types of organisms are that detected in compressed air samples. Indicator organisms can help point to the source of contamination and provide manufacturers the opportunity to remediate the issue. Maria Sandoval, Trace Analytics laboratory director, will explain the types of microorganisms that are the most concerning and how testing and identification can help manufacturers further ensure end-product quality.
