Air Superiority or Overconfidence? - Egypt’s Disputed Victories in Sinai
The most intense day of the 1956 Suez War is coming to an end in part six of our Suez Air War series. Israeli and Egyptian air forces are still sending as many aircraft they can afford over the Sinai battlefield. On many occasions, the pilots from the two sides meet and several dogfights occurred. But in this particular period, the Egyptians and the Israelis to interpret things differently. Egyptian pilots claim several victories over Israeli aircraft but Israelis are less ready to confirm those, as they usually are.
