The announcement that Napster, a music streaming service, will launch its own token on the Algorand blockchain is very significant.
On the other hand, Applied Blockchain and Algorand are working together to create a trustless cross-chain bridge that will initially make use of Intel's hardware security enclave (SGX) security features and later make use of a new cryptography feature called state proofs when this becomes accessible in Algorand.
With the announcement of a planned $NAPSTER token launch on Algorand, it has been reported that the venerable music streaming service Napster is moving into the Web3 space.
Although a launch date hasn't been specified, the company has already published a lite paper outlining its plans to expand its current music streaming ecosystem on the layer-1 blockchain.
According to the lite paper, Napster will allow fans, music creators, and rights holders to take advantage of all Web3 opportunities. The Algorand blockchain was added as the only carbon-negative blockchain infrastructure currently in use, and we are all aware that this is true.
