Crouton 4 Chromebook Tutorials: Installing Ubuntu Version Trusty
This is another segment that is explains how to setup and install the newest version of Ubuntu on a Google Chromebook via Crouton(Linux).
This version is called Trusty and is Ubuntu Version 14.04, however I do want to point out that I have found some issues here and there with a variety of different programs. With that being said, I do install and run a lot more programs than 99% of people so you may be just fine running Trusty.
**Enter Developer Mode Samsung 550: http://goo.gl/uR7xe
**Download Crouton: http://goo.gl/fd3zc
**Install Crouton Trusty from shell Command:
With XFCE Desktop:
sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t xfce -r trusty
or
With Unity Desktop:
sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t unity -r trusty
**Start Crouton After Installation:
Press Ctrl Alt T
Type: shell
Press Enter
Type: sudo start xfce4 or sudo startunity depending on which desktop environment you installed.

These videos will be based on the Intel processor, so for a few Chromebook(ARM) owners your device may not be compatible with every video that is in this series. Although you should be able to do just about 90% of them successfully.
