How to improve quality of tube well water || Tubewell water quality improvement || Crop Reformer
Water is a basic and most important input involved in crop production. Forty percent of tubewell water is used as irrigation source in Punjab province of Pakistan. Almost forty percent of tube well are discharging unfit or marginally useful water for irrigation purpose. In this video, we have guided the farmers having brackish water to make its safe use through different practices and inputs. Home remedies for betterment of tube well water include planting of salt tolerant crops, alternate use of tube well and canal water, use of gypsum in field and in front chamber of tube well discharge, use of manure (cow manure) and fresh or old farm yard manure filled in permeable plastic bags may also be put in font chamber of water channel to make use of natural nutrients present in it. Use of sulphur and other amendments to improve and refine the soil health. Acidic fertilizers like Ammonium sulphate, MAP and SSP should be proffered over dap fertilizer (diammonium phosphate, diammonium phosphate fertilizer) in the soil irrigated with lower quality water.
