Soldiers of the 79th separate airborne assault Tavria brigade defeated an assault group of Russian occupiers in the Donetsk region. Russian armored vehicles and infantry tried to break through the defense in the Kurakhove direction. Footage of the battle was released by the brigade's press service. The occupiers once again resorted to a "suicidal move" and, with the support of equipment, launched an attack on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance discovered a column of Russian armored vehicles still far away on the approaches to the positions.
They were immediately met with heavy fire from Ukrainian artillery and attack drone operators. Having received painful blows, the Russians began to turn their equipment around and flee the battlefield. According to the Ukrainian paratroopers, the daring assault ended with the death of some of the occupiers and the escape of the survivors. To eliminate Russian infantry that had disembarked from armored vehicles, paratroopers used drones with airdrops.
It is worth noting that in the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been repelling massive Russian assaults on populated areas for a long time using armored vehicles and large numbers of infantry. Despite such assaults, paratroopers continue to hold their positions and destroy a significant amount of Russian equipment in heavy fighting.
But Russian troops have intensified their attacks in the Kurakhove and Kupyansk directions, and continue intensive attacks in Pokrovsk, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. They launch a renewed offensive, shifting their focus to a different direction in the region to disrupt Ukrainian logistics and achieve a significant breakthrough. Aware of the tactical objectives the Russians aimed to accomplish, the Ukrainians methodically countered their campaigns at each stage of the plan. Ukrainians used the short, tactical pause on this part of the frontline to further sustain their local air superiority by continuing to hunt Russian air defense assets within the effective range of their available weapon systems. Simultaneously, both sides relaunched ground attacks against each other around Kurakhove. Russians adjusted their approach in the Kurahove direction to finally seize the local supply route to Vuhledar.
