Consumer Protection and Empowerment (CPE) 3-4, Employment Screening, is part of URAC's latest revision to the Specialty Pharmacy & Mail Service Pharmacy standards.
IHS CEO Dr. Tom Goddard speaks of how this standard includes two requirements when it comes to your hiring process.
Those two requirements:
Conduct a criminal background check for all employees that handle consumer data
For any employees that have access to medications and controlled substances, you must conduct a drug screening/test
