News of The Week - Ransomware attacks increased 91% globally!

According to the NCC Group’s Global Threat Intelligence Team, ransomware attacks have spiked by 91% between February and March of 2023, and by 62% compared to March 2022. This jump is the highest number of monthly reported ransomware attacks the group has ever measured.
The most active threat actor that accounted for 28% of all March victims was cl0p, a Russian linked entity specializing in double extortion.
NCC Group also noted that North America was the target of 48% of March’s activity, with 221 victims. Europe and Asia followed with 126 and 59 attacks respectively.
