En este video voy a mostraros el famoso programa de administrador de archivos Xtree Gold (XTGold) v4.0 para Windows. Vamos a instalarlo sobre un Windows 3.11 y a hacer una revisión del mismo.
XTree nació en el año 1985 (Executive Systems, Inc), y pronto adquirió gran popularidad. Permitía una gran variedad de funciones como explorar y administrar unidades, carpetas y archivos, editarlos, visualizarlos, etc. Consumía pocos recursos y no tenía competidores a su altura (quizás Norton Commander).
Con la llegada de Windows, XTree entró en declive, y la empresa fue adquirida finalmente en 1994 por Symantec, quien abandonó el proyecto dedicando sus recursos a Norton Navigator y Norton Commander bajo entorno Windows.
