UP Math Wizard: Infinite Series
This question is from the Final Round of the UP Mathematics Club Nationwide Search for the Math Wizard 2024 held in March 2024.
Problem statement:
Find the sum of 200/n - 100/(n+1) - 100/(n-1) from n = 2 to infinity
This is a good example of finding the sum using telescoping technique. Although this problem was asked in a Collegiate Math Contest, this type of problem also appears in High School Math competitions.
