Question: What is the maximum number of lattice points that can be contained within a circle of radius 1?
Context:
a lattice point is a point in the coordinate system with integer coordinates
this problem previously appeared at the 2002 Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) which is one of the most prestigious high school math competitions in the US
@Daily_Epsilon posts Math problems of varying difficulty daily. The answer to the question is the date, e.g. answer for Jun 4 would be 4.
