A pontoon boat is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I love the idea of having a nice stable platform that can be fished from, swam from or just generally enjoying yourself on the water. While it won't be the fastest thing on the water it's purpose isn't to get to where you're going in a hurry but to enjoy the journey itself.
While it might be difficult to find cheap purpose-made pontoons a good substitute would be plastic drums which can be picked up very cheaply second-hand.
