Welcome to another instalment of Tour with Me Tuesdays!
Come along with us this week as we check out the School of Applied Science and Technology!
Offered within the School of Applied Science and Technology are four science-based programs:
Cannabis Applied Sciences is a one-year graduate certificate focusing on analytical chemistry and cannabis crop science. Students learn about new product development, propagation, and quality insurance. Cannabis courses are developed in partnership with cannabis industry experts and take place in cutting-edge labs to familiarize students with industry standards and environments.
The Chemical Laboratory Technology program is a three-year advanced diploma program combined with up to 16 months of paid co-op placement. Students build a sound basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics, with emphasis on the principles and performance of standard lab practices, procedures and techniques for biological, chemical and physical analysis.
Environmental Technology offers experience in environmental processes that provides foundational knowledge of air, water and waste management issues. Graduates will feel confident entering the workforce after hands-on learning combined with 12-16 months of co-op training.
The Honours Bachelor of Applied Technology is a four-year degree with a co-op, developing skills in experimental design and genetic analysis. Graduates will be skilled in the handling of microbial, plant and animal genetic material and macromolecule analysis, small animal handling, experimental design, statistical data analysis and bioinformatics.
Fanshawe's program delivery models emphasize learning of technical and essential skills required for productivity and success in the workplace, refined through project work.
