Welcome to this week's episode of Tour with Me Tuesday - where we will be exploring Fanshawe's cutting-edge Construction labs!
These amazing facilities cater to programs like Construction Engineering Technology, Carpentry Renovation Technology and Carpentry Apprenticeship, providing students with a dynamic learning environment.
Supervised by qualified trades-people, students have the opportunity to utilize these labs to mimic real-world job sites. Beyond the hands-on practicality, they provide various other knowledge, including things like on-site safety, effective communication, construction document interpretation, project costing, material dynamics, adherence to building codes, construction contracts, adept site management practices and more.
The Donald J. Smith School of Building Technology offers an extensive range of programs in the construction field, including certificates, diplomas, and apprenticeships. Through co-op and apprenticeship opportunities, students have the chance to gain practical on-the-job experience as well as theoretical in-class learning. With the variety of learning styles and programs provided, there is an option for everyone interested in pursuing a career in the high-demand field of building technology.
