11-News spoke with the Baltimore County councilman, Mike Ertel, who represents Towson. He's reassuring residents that steps are being taken to prevent future tragedies from taking place in Towson. “There's a crime every day, a violent crime every day, often (a) very disturbing crime every day. People have become numb to this, and I think sometimes they feel like ‘Is government becoming numb to it?’ and just not addressing what needs to happen and I can tell you, we are taking steps," Ertel said. Part of that plan will take effect Wednesday as county police and other local leaders will review protocols with businesses and review security camera systems.
