DPW could expel company fighting climate change
A Baltimore company that created technology to reduce the effects of climate change at no cost to city taxpayers has been doing its research at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant since 2011. However, documents obtained by 11 News Investigates show that city officials told the company to remove its equipment and get out. Paul Sayan, the acting head of the Bureau of Water and Wastewater at the Baltimore City Department of Public Works, sent a letter to HY-TEK Bio CEO Bob Mroz on June 10, threatening to "discard any personal property, equipment and/or structures that are not removed from Back River within 90 days."
