Jazz workshops with Avishai Cohen and the Miguel Zenón Quartet
Israeli double bass player Avishai Cohen and the Miguel Zenón Quartet, winner of the Achava Jazz Award 2019, gave workshops for young jazz musicians on September 29th and 30th, 2019 in Weimar.
The Achava Jazz Award distinguishes an artistically outstanding band project that focuses its work on the transcultural character of jazz on a very high artistic level by blending folk music, popular music or European art music, etc. into the improvisational or compositional characteristics of jazz. The music of the the Miguel Zenón Quartet is a perfect blend of Latin folk music and jazz.
