Stock markets across Asia posted significant falls in early trading on Monday, amid worries over the US economy.
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 stock index tumbled more than 10% as world markets were jolted by weak US jobs reports
The main Taiwan stock index was down by more than 7% to 20,054.24 by midday. Market heavyweight and computer chip maker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. lost 5.3%.
