What is the difference between Iterative and Incremental SDLC Models?

Imagine you are building a shopping app. In the Incremental Model, you first release a simple version of the app with just one feature, like product browsing. Later, you add new features to it one by one, like a cart, payment options, and reviews. Basically, in the Incremental approach, we add features step-by-step.

Whereas in the Iterative Model, we launch a basic prototype first and then improve it based on feedback. For example, in the first iteration, release the complete app—browsing, cart, and payment functionality—but it’s not polished. Then, you keep refining it in the next iterations based on user feedback, like better UI and smoother checkout. Basically, the Iterative approach focuses on perfecting the whole product in cycles.

Which model would you use if you were the project manager? Do write it in the comments.
