Genshin Impact - Multiplayer - Online - How to Play With Friends?
Genshin Impact is a free to play Zelda Breath of The Wild clone featuring more RPG mechanics like leveling up for weapons and characters. Genshin Impact is not a direct clone of Zelda Breath of The Wild as it does offer online multiplayer and the ability to play with friends. While the idea of playing with friends online in Genshin Impact does sound fun the execution is not great. So how does playing online in Genshin Impact with friend's work? Each player must reach a certain level in the game and complete early major story content in solo play before being allowed to join with other players. This should take each player about 3 to 5 hours of playtime to reach a point to play online.
Once all of that is done playing online in Genshin Impact may be a little disappointing for most as playing in another player's world offers little benefit than helping a friend out. Players can not progress the main storyline together and will be limited in the main world of the game not able to collect from chests or loot the host player opens or collects. There is no loot duplications across all players games as a result you have a tag-along style online game rather than a game you can truly play together. Players can although play dungeons that are not tied to the main story with friends but will be limited on how many heroes they can use while playing on the hosts game. This means instead of having all 4 of your heroes you may have 1 or 2 only depending on how many players are in the game.
While Genshin Impact certainly is not the perfect Zelda Breath of The Wild clone that offers online play it does at least have online play. If you're looking for a game similar to Breath of The Wild but do not own a Nintendo Switch Genshin Impact may be for you. Genshin Impact is available on all major consoles as well as mobile.
