AMD just released their new gaming CPU 7950X3D and 7900X3D to compete against Intel and the AMD 5800X3D. A lot of hype around these new AMD gaming CPU or the X3D CPU. While there certainly is a gaming performance increase in some games the 7950X3D and 7900X3D have major issues at launch. AMD X3D CPU's rely on Microsoft Game Bar to handle all compatibility with the X3D CPU.
AMD 7950X3D has 16 cores 24 threads and 144MB of V-cache but has major issues as a result of Microsoft or Windows 11 scheduler. The same applies to the AMD 7900X3D with its 12 cores 16 threads and 140MB of V-cache. Interestingly its expected that long awaited 7800X3D may not have such issues at launch and possibly out perform the 7950X3D and 7900X3D.
The 7800X3D has all its V-cache on a single die of the CPU unlike its higher core counter parts. The 7800X3D should perform similar in game performance to the 5800X3D from lest gen AMD CPU.
