3 Kings' vs Queen's English in Famous Speeches.
This video showcases the Kings (George V, Edward VIII and King Charles III) and Queen Elizabeth II of England giving speeches over a 90+ year period. Starting from 1932 and finishing in 2022. It is quite amazing listening to this; firstly, not only as a historic piece of connected audio (hopefully the first of its kind), but also to compare the upper-class RP accents of the various individuals (for sake of argument we can call them King's and Queen's English). So, whose accent do you prefer? Which is the most important speech? What subtle differences can you hear in their accents?
I'd love to know!
Jon.
