Ethics Illustrated: Space Exploration, Food Sustainability, and the Federal Ethics Rules
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), in partnership with NASA, has created a new interactive Ethics training game which asks the question: Can you save the Lunar Greenhouse? To succeed in the game, you will need to know the best ethical choices -- and avoid conflicts of interest -- to help your team successfully complete its mission. To play this educational game, simply download the free USDA Ethics Mobile App by searching “USDA Ethics” on an Apple or Android smart phone or tablet app store. The USDA Ethics Training Game is available to all Federal employees and interested members of the public on the USDA Ethics App and is also available on USDA’s Ethics webpage (www.usda.gov/oe. ). Disclaimer: While USDA does not yet have a greenhouse on the Moon, the issue of food sustainability will be an important issue for astronauts and mission crews as humans travel to outer space in the future.
