**What is Google Page Experience?**
Page experience takes into account how your website's performance impacts the overall user experience (UX). While UX has always been important to digital marketing, this update from Google makes page experience an important part of SEO. If your website loads slowly and creates problems for users while your competitors' sites don't, you'll likely see a drop in your rankings.

Of course, page experience signals aren't the only things that determine where your website ranks in the search engine results pages (SERPs). Google uses many known and unknown factors to determine which websites appear first in the results. While page experience is important, you shouldn't forget about optimizing your content for keywords, earning links, and more.

A major part of the Page Experience algorithm update is Google's Core Web Vitals.

**What are Google Core Web Vitals?**
Core Web Vitals measure how your website loads for users.

Three Core Web Vitals benchmarks are:
▶ Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
▶ Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)
▶ First Input Delay (FID)

Alex explains what each benchmark means in the video. While these benchmarks are part of Google's algorithm at the time of this video's production, Google may make changes to Core Web Vitals in the future.
