Steps:
1) First of all open device manager:
i) right click on my computer and choose device manager
ii) Search for device manager in search box OR
iii) Open the "Run" dialog box by pressing and holding the Windows key, then press the R key ("Run").
and type "devmgmt.msc".
2)Under device management,choose Batteries option.
3) Batteries option are sub categorized into:
i) Microsoft AC Adapter
ii) Microsoft ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery
4) Choose second option Microsoft ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery and right click and uninstall it.
Confirm that your battery icon have been disappeared by this time.
NOTE: Leave the first option Microsoft AC Adapter as it is.
5) Now,Plug in your AC Adapter and remove your laptop battery from its battery slot and shutdown your laptop.
6) Now,Unplug your AC Adapter and hold down(press) power button for about 30-40 seconds.(called hard reset)
7) Again,Plug in your AC Adapter and restart your laptop and put back your battery in its battery slot.
8) Now what you have to do is after you have logged in,again move towards "device management" and there you will
see an option "scan for hardware changes" under ACTION tab, continue with this.
9) You will see that your second option under batteries option (Microsoft ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery)
will re-appear and you will see a battery icon too re-ppears.
10) We are done with this!!!!!
