WHY I AM NOT SEEING ANY FILES IN RESOURCE EXPLORER ? HOW TO CONFIGURE IT ?

STEP 1 : CONFIGURING & ENABLING SOFTWARE INVENTORY

1. Within MECM console, click the Administration workspace, and then click Client Settings.
2. In case Default Client Settings, and then click Properties.
3. Select Software Inventory.
4. Here Software Inventory Agent is enabled by default.
5. However, it is not configured to inventory files by default, need to add the appropriate files that want to inventory
6. Enable software inventory on clients setting is set to Yes.
7. Inventory reporting detail is set to Full details.
8. Inventory these file types, click Set Types.
9. Click the yellow asterisk ( ).
10. Specify the following for Inventoried File Properties: Name: *.dll
11. For the Location, click Set, select the Variable or path name option, type %programfiles%, leave the default selection as Search subfolders selected and then click OK.
12. Apply setting on a or set of devices:

STEP 2 : CHECK CLIENT SETTINGS ASSIGNED ON DEVICE / DEVICES

1. Go to the Assets and Compliance workspace, go to Devices
2. Check Client settings are assigned to device / devices.
3. If not then need to assign it.

STEP 3 : DEPLOY CLIENT SETTING POLICY TO MAKE IT EFFECTIVE

1. On Device within Action cycle run Machine policy
2. On Console -- Right Click -- Client Notification -- Download Computer Policy

STEP 4: REVIEWING LOGS

1. CCMNotificationAgent.log
2. PolicyEvaluator.log

If Notified from Console can check in
Monitoring -- Client Operations -- Download Computer Policy
Post Policy is assigned to device

STEP 5: RUN SOFTWARE INVENTORY CYCLE

1. On Device within Action cycle run Software Inventory Cycle OR
2. On Console -- Right Click -- Client Notification -- Collect Software Inventory

STEP 6: REVIEWING LOGS

1. InventoryAgent.log
2. FileSystemFile.log

STEP 7 : CHECK IN RESOURCE EXPLORER

1. Config Manager -- On device Right click Resource Explorer
2. In Software -- File System
