MECM CLIENT INSTALLATION TROUBLESHOOTING
This video gives an overview on case scenario of troubleshooting while MECM client Installation is triggered.
Scenario 1: Troubleshooting Client Push installation
Scenario 2: Troubleshooting post successful manual Client Installation have limited action cycles in Config Manager properties.
Scenario 1:
Troubleshooting Client Push Installation
In Asset and Compliance -- Devices -- Select Device -- Install Client.
Review log: CCM.log
We see error which refers to account not configured.
Added account by going to MECM Console -- Administration -- Hierarchy Setting -- Site Configuration -- Sites -- Client Installation Settings -- Client Push Installation setting -- Add account which is local admin on that device.
Incase installing client if its domain need to select tick mark -- Allow the client software to be installed in domain controllers
Scenario 2:
While manually installing client have limited action cycles in Config Manager properties.
Review CCMSetup.log -- returns exit code 0
It means client is successfully installed.
However as limited action cycle, means communication not being established between MECM Client & MECM Server.
Review ClientIDStartupManager.log
LocationServices.log
Here by reviewing this logs we discovered devices are not in same boundary hence communication not being established.
Set the ip boundary
by going into console -- Administration -- Hierarchy Configuration -- Boundaries
Post device is part of boundary.. auto retry shows successful communication & we see more action cycles present.
Review MECM Client status on console, shows successful.
