Should you switch your CCTV system to SSD drives rather than the stock low speed surveillance drive that the system probably came with? That's what I'm talking about today as well as showing you how simple it is to change the drive in a basic CCTV recorder.

To answer the question in the title. Probably not. There's nothing wrong with a slower spinning disc for CCTV. They're designed to run 24/7 and the technology is old and reliable. Unless you have a very specific reason to want SSD, I'd stick with what you've got. Watch the video for more info on what those specific reasons might be.
I'm not made of money so I'm looking at consumer, budget SSDs. To afford the kind of storage I need for CCTV on SSD, I'm opting for a Samsung QVO drive which uses cheaper QLC flash memory with a shorter lifespan (TBW).
