Global menu is a mechanism of placing an application's menu in the top panel of the desktop, rather than with the application window similar to menu on Mac OS.
Android Studio menus are not offer Linux native menu. So it won't fit well with our precious desktop. Well... at least out of the box.
In my test with Unity desktop, using Jayatana and activate it in VM Options is no longer work in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and higher. But you don't have to worry, because there's another workaround.
Make sure you're running Android Studio 4.2 and higher (otherwise it will not work) and an active internet connection to install required plugins from the marketplace.
