Open the settings for your Windows 11 virtual machine in virt manager
1 - under the cpu section
un check: Copy host CPU configuration
2 - in the model drop down menu click inside the text box which will allow you to edit the text
change the text from:
host-model
to:
host-passthrough
and apply the changes
3 - boot into windows 11 and open the powershell as admin and then run the following command to install wsl2 and ubuntu
wsl --install -d Ubuntu
4 - after wsl and ubuntu have installed reboot windows
5 - after you have rebooted into windows a windows terminal should open and prompt you add a user and password to the ubuntu virtual machine
6 - update and upgrade
next you need to update and upgrade
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
