Gene expression is a complex phenomenon that involves regulation in cis and trans. We hypothesized that the cis expression would be more transferrable as they are less sensitive to developmental and environmental context of the individual compared to measured expression of genes. This project aims at getting cis expression and examine its utility in the prediction of complex traits within and across populations in maize.
