Alright, let’s dive into creating a cone from scratch. We’re starting our sketch from the top left corner and picking one of the vertical construction planes to make a standing cone.
First things first, hit L on your keyboard to activate the Line command. No need to stress about angles or lengths this time around – we’re focusing on the core concepts!
Sketch a line and then offset it to set the thickness of your cone. Next, create two new lines. If you’ve forgotten the shortcut, just right-click to find the Line command. Remember, it’s all about keeping things simple and intuitive.
Now, feel free to oversketch those lines. We’ll use the trim tool to cut away any excess later. Once you’re happy with your sketch, finish it up and head over to the Create drop-down menu to activate the Revolve tool.
Your profile is already preselected (thank you, 3D modeling gods, for that smooth automation!). Just select the vertical axis, click OK, and voila – you’ve got yourself a cone!
Show off your creation to the world and bask in the glory of your 3D modeling skills. If you’ve got a killer way to make a cone in Autodesk Fusion, drop it in the comments below. We love seeing your genius at work!
And hey, if you’re hungry for more tips and tricks, check out our tutorial on sheet metal design. Stay creative and keep pushing the boundaries!
