Israeli forces bombed tents housing displaced civilians in Khan Younis, Gaza yesterday.
The airstrike targeted at least 20 tents, killing at least 40 civilians and injuring 80 others, with numbers still rising as rescue efforts continue. Majority of those who were killed were women and children who had fled their homes seeking safety amidst ongoing violence.
The destruction of these shelters has left survivors in an even more dire situation, with limited access to medical care and humanitarian aid.
