I recently remembered this cartoon that I watched when I was 5-6 years old, still on cassette)
To say that I did not understand anything then means to say nothing. A gloomy future in the style of cyberpunk, with the division of layers of society into privileged and second class, unemployment due to the optimization of processes with the help of robots, wars between the elites among themselves and punitive detachments of fascists, all this with references to Sumerian and Abrahamic mythologies, as well as questions about like, what makes a person a person?
And yet I watched this cartoon many times. It scared me and made me cry at the end, but again and again I turned it on. Now it seems to me that this is because a child’s eye saw the main thing - the love and care between the main characters, their desire to save each other at any cost. It was nice to watch, both then and now, 20 years later.
Are there anyone else here who was traumatized by this cartoon as a child?)
