SAN DIEGO (Sept. 27, 2022) U.S. Navy Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) transits from Naval Base San Diego to dry dock, Sept. 27, 2022. Essex is in a scheduled docking selected restricted availability (DSRA) conducting a maintenance period to upgrade and refurbish many key systems aboard.
