Landscape Photography Travel Setup
As I travel more and more for my landscape photography, I have some strategies that help me keep the cost down and keep me close to the places I want to be. Motel stays start to add up, and a lot of times, they aren’t necessarily close to what you want to photograph, meaning you have to get up even earlier to catch a sunrise.
Camping can be a great way to keep the costs down, stay outdoors, and be close to the scenes you want to photograph. This works great for regional travel, but what i you are flying to your destination? It gets a little more challenging then. Between camera gear, clothing for the trip, and camping gear it can all add up.
I now have a three bag setup that helps me camp during my landscape photography travels. It has taken some experimentation along the way, but I think my current setup for travel landscape photography is about 90% of the way there. In this video, I review my strategy for flying and camping for your landscape photography trip.
