In this talk, we will explore the rising popularity of the Backstage project and the importance of plugins for seamless integration with various backstage instances. Drawing on our experiences developing plugins for the Harness Backstage Plugin, we will share lessons learned and best practices for building plugins that meet the unique needs of different environments. As more and more organizations adopt Backstage, we believe that plugin development will become increasingly important for achieving effective DevOps and ensuring a smooth, streamlined development process.
About Debabrata: As a Community Engineer at Harness, Debabrata has been working on developing and supporting the open-source Harness Backstage Plugin, helping to empower developers to easily manage Harness modules within backstage environments. With a deep passion for open-source development, Debabrata is an software engineer working on tools facilitating DevOps. In addition to their work on the Backstage Plugin, Debabrata was an active contributor to the open-source community, with a particular focus on projects related to Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
