Christine Lakeland (born July 11, 1954) is an American musician/songwriter.
She was married to the late guitarist/songwriter J.J. Cale.
She played on many of his albums and was a member of his band.
She also has recorded several albums under her own name.
For most hardcore fans of J.J. Cale, I don't think I need to explain who Christine Lakeland is.
For those who are not familiar with this name, I will only say that she has played (guitar, keyboards, percussion) on all J.J. albums since 1979 (i.e. from #5), was also a co-author of some things, performed -vocals, and in some places came to the fore (vocals in the second part of Money Talks from J.J.'s 1983 album - this is it).
As for the music, it's almost the same, with a bit more hard delivery in places, as well as some eclecticism - a pinch of blues, a little more rock, a little folk, plus a hefty spoonful of country. Americana in general.
