Steps:
While you could download professional screen recording software such as OBS studio, Mac has a perfectly good screen recorder built in which if you are just recording gameplays and not streaming i think is good enough.
To start screen recording, click the search icon at the top right of your mac screen and then search for and open the ‘screen shot’ app.
Click ‘record entire screen’ , that option isn’t there for me because i am already recording my screen for this video, but the ‘record entire screen’ button is where the stop button is for me.
When you click that it will start recording right away, you can tell its recording because there will be a stop button in your toolbar at the top right.
You can now record your gameplay.
When you are finished recording, click the stop button from the top right toolbar.
The recording will be saved as an MP4 file on your desktop.
Double click it to open it.
You can now trim the parts you don’t want from the video by clicking the ‘edit’ option at the top left and then selecting ‘trim’.
Drag the yellow bars in the video timeline to trim your clip. When you click ‘trim’ it will cut all of the video out apart from what's inside the yellow bar.
The video file you’ll be left with will contain just the gameplay you want to share.
