The Flux Olympiad was first conceived by founding Fluxus artist George Maciunas in the 1960s, though never realised until now.
Football on stilts, the flipper race, invisible hurdling... These are just some of the sports that took place at Tate's very own Flux Olympiad, part of a three-day festival of art and performance at Tate Modern.

The aim of the Fluxus group was to instill artistic values into every part of life, and they went about it with a good dose of Dadaistic humour. TateShots asked artist, sportsman and Fluxus expert Tom Rossotti to commentate on the day's activities and tell us about the history of the event.
